Accessibility Statement
Scouts App is committed to making the product usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We test the surfaces our members and leaders use every day against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.
What we test
An automated browser test suite (axe-core scans, keyboard-only navigation journeys, focus visibility checks, and a color-contrast audit) runs against the guest authentication pages, the scout and parent member dashboards and their tabs, and the troop leader panel's day-to-day screens - roster, events, invoices, and the approval queue. Serious and critical accessibility issues found by these scans block the release of new changes.
What is not yet covered
In the interest of being direct about the current state, two areas are not covered by this audit:
- The central marketing/billing site and the merit badge counselor panel are unaudited - they have not yet been scanned or manually tested for WCAG conformance.
- The dark mode color scheme is not included in the AA contrast audit. Light mode (the default) is the color scheme verified against WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios.
Feedback
If you use assistive technology and run into a barrier anywhere in Scouts App, we want to hear about it. Contact us at support@scouts.app and we'll work to address it.
